Cleaning the flowStick

Similar to the mouthpiece, frequent use of the flowStick can cause deposits - e.g. food residues - to accumulate in the cavity.

Regular cleaning recommended

To maintain the flowStick, we recommend cleaning it regularly with water and, if necessary, with a mouthpiece brush or cleaning tablets.

Note for models with silicone hose

For flowStick models with a silicone hose, the hose itself should be cleaned regularly. To do this, remove the hose, rinse it thoroughly with water, allow it to dry completely, and then slide it back onto the front section of the flowStick.

Cleaning instructions

  • Remove silicone hose
If present, carefully peel it off with your fingers.
  • Internal cleaning with mouthpiece brush
Clean the front and rear areas of the flowStick under running water - do not brush deeper due to the blowing edges.
  • Place in cleaning solution
Place the cleaning tablet, flowStick, and hose into a glass of warm water. Let it soak for at least 5 minutes.
  • Rinse and dry
Rinse all components thoroughly and allow to dry completely.

Important instructions

  • If the screw is removed during cleaning, be sure to screw it back into the thread carefully. If the screw is jammed, for example, due to being screwed in at an angle, the thread may be damaged.
  • Carefully screw the mouthpiece brush into both openings only up to the blowing edge inside the flowStick.
  • Water temperature: The material of the flowStick is heat-resistant up to a maximum of 90°C.
  • The silicone tube can be pushed back onto the front section more easily with gentle twisting movements.

Special feature of model TUTO (trumpet)

  • The diagonally cut side of the silicone hose should point in the same direction as the screw.
  • Push the tube into the front opening of the flowStick until you feel slight resistance at about 0.7mm.

Cleaning tablet tip

For thorough cleaning, cleaning tablets for braces and dentures are suitable - available, for example, in pharmacies.
